Catching up the past year

As I went through our 900 pics from the last year, I began to realize all of the wonderful things The Goat Man and I have done since that day at the Turtle Ponds.  Sometimes we talk and reminisce about all the years that have gone by but we have become to know each other in a way neither of us expected in the last twelve months.

Each day The Goat Man and the granddaughters would feed these guys.
The Goat Man named the one with the large butt "Fuzz Nuts."

The woods were an escape
for both good and bad reasons.
The Goat Man would spend nights here
rather than the couch after a fight.
He had a place to sleep
right next to a coyote den.

There are so many things that we have enjoyed just living together in a quaint mobile home.  I was working and we were living the every day mundane life of a middle aged couple.  The stress was high from all of the new beginnings, financial concerns, and crazy people around us.  However, we found a way to enjoy each other and the world around us.

We lived right behind a small airport.
Often we would walk to this field and watch planes come and go.
The sunsets were awesome.
We watched many together.

We traveled to several places while we were living in Kalamazoo as well.  We spent a lot of time in the car with a two hour ride to my parents home (where we spent many weekends to see family and friends) and a two and a half hour ride to see or pick up (which means five hours in the car) The Little Goat Kids.  It was a triangle we traveled often.  But we managed to go several other places as well.

This is Borgess Medical Center.
This is where I worked.
My youngest granddaughter thought it was a castle.
She pointed out the balcony stating that is where the King showed the kingdom Aurora in Sleeping Beauty.

We went to Chicago where we enjoyed authentic Chicago dogs, walked around the huge city, and visited the Millennium Park.

Yeah we don't know what it is
or what the purpose is either, but it is cool.
We went to the FREE zoo in Chicago.
We walked for hours looking for this Polar Bear.

We visited a city very dear to me, Caseville.  The city known to me for the great camping and swimming on the beach in summer became a weekend get a way for The Goat Man and I.

The walkway to the beach.

This gentleman was ice fishing where I was use to swim.

We have no idea what a "Muck Advisory" is either.

On the way to Caseville (an hour drive from my parents house) past the huge ditches that could swallow a huge truck we found some very old buildings.  The Goat Man and I both find them to be cool nostalgia.

We drove a co-worker of mine to buy a new car in Wisconsin and slipped away to the Harley Davidson factory for a tour.  After a tour we went to the Harley Museum.  The Goat Man was like a kid in a candy store.  His child-like amusement was a wonderful thing to share with him.

The huge burger we ate at the restaurant in the museum.

This is the first Harley Davidson.
We went to Jacksonville, so I could attend my first colloquium for my Phd.  We stayed in a very nice hotel eating room service every night.  They had a $20 grilled cheese sandwich and tomato soup that was to die for.  No, you did not read that sentence wrong.

The course was very intense!

The Goat Man swam and relaxed all day while I was in my intense course. When the weekend was over we drove down to Port St. Lucie to visit with The Goat Man's sister.  We were saddened that The Goat Man's son was unable to enjoy this wonderful trip.

Video of the waves.
We spent hours at the beach swimming
and looking for shells with
The Goat Man's sister.

Swimming in the waves.

This is just a beautiful boat.
