As slippery as a piglet in a pig chase

September 3, 2013
The interview went great!  I have spent all weekend doing my lesson plan.  I realized I did all those goofy quirky things my instructors use to do.  I remember laughing at them.  I wonder if my students laugh at me?  It would be such an honor if they did.
The surreal moment was when I realized it because it is like that moment when you are yelling at your kids and your parents words come out of your mouth.  Immediately you stop yelling and stand with a deer in the headlights look not knowing whether to laugh or cry.
I arrived about ten minutes early, but had a pleasant chat with the receptionist.  Mr. O’Brian came to get me exactly on time.  I went into the room where the department heads for each individual program they have at the school sat as my students.  Mr. Smith (the big boss) came in and introduced himself.
The slow computer gave me a minute to talk and let them know me.  Then it was time to teach.  I think I only spoke a minute before I was extremely comfortable and in my element.  I was having fun.  I was teaching.
When the demonstration ended I had my time to sell myself.  I gave them the best number to reach me at and I gave them my teaching philosophy.  I had regretted not giving it to them in the first interview, so I made sure to make my plea.
The event ended with a tour that was very impressive.  Central Florida Institute has a small school, but they are more than prepared to instruct their students with and X-ray machine, surgical room, and a full room of computers (just to name a few) for their students.  I recommend anyone to check into them.
The Goat Man is still with me, but he has been busy melting in the sun mowing and grooming Kat’s yard.  Yesterday he came in so covered in sweat he had to be as slippery as a piglet in a pig chase.  I think I have seen him come out of the shower drier.
I apologize for the long wait.   I was assisting with other student’s papers, doing my final papers for this course, and trying to get everything perfect for my demo teaching today.  I never once forgot about this blog and my faithful readers.  Thank you so much for reading and following The Goat Man and my adventures.
